Secure the future of your brand with a federal trademark.

Your business needs a trademark registration strategy. I’m here for that.

Federal trademark registration helps protect your brand — nationwide.

It signals seriousness and longevity to your customers.

It’s an asset that can be sold or licensed.

And it grows in value as your business grows.

Okay. But what exactly is a trademark?

Any word, name, symbol, or device — or any combination of those — used to identify and distinguish goods or services from those manufactured or sold by others.

In short, it’s your brand identity.

It’s common to confuse trademarks with their intellectual property cousins. Patents protect inventions and how they work. Copyrights protect creative works.

What sets my pricing apart? Predictability.

First office action response at no additional charge

Your application may never receive a USPTO office action. But if it does, I respond to the first non-final office action without charging you more — whether it raises a procedural issue or a substantive one, including a refusal based on a likelihood of confusion. If one office action raises both, one response covers both.

A second search if the first name won’t work

If my search turns up conflicts serious enough that I advise against filing, I run a full search and opinion letter on one replacement name at no additional charge.

A second class at no additional charge

My fee covers up to two classes of goods or services, so if your brand spans two categories — clothing and a retail store, for example — you don’t pay me more for the second. The USPTO still charges its own fee for each class.

What it costs

One flat fee covers the core of getting your trademark registered. No hourly billing, no meter quietly running in the background.

Both prices include:

  • 30-minute consultation
  • Comprehensive clearance search and written opinion
  • Application in up to two classes
  • First office action response at no additional charge

USPTO fees are separate, starting at $350 per class. That money goes to the federal government. I list the most common fees on the cost page so nothing sneaks up on you.

The interconnectedness of our economy has made federal trademark registration more important than ever.

A federally registered trademark provides a nationwide presumption that your brand belongs to you. Without it, your business is more vulnerable to trademark disputes resulting in massive legal bills or a forced rebranding.

Both are far more expensive than investing in protecting your brand now.

Most of what people believe about business names and trademark rights is inaccurate.

Many people find it surprising that nationwide trademark rights are not established simply by purchasing a domain name or officially registering a business name with your state.

Being first to use a name has benefits, but it’s hard to prove and offers comparatively limited brand protection.

Federal trademark registration isn’t easy. But difficult things are usually the things worth doing.

The registration process requires a fair amount of patience and a clear understanding of the benefits and risks involved. A lot depends on getting seemingly insignificant details right.

That’s where I come in.
