Equinomia Legal

The Law Office of Jeremy J. Dowell, P.C.
Colorado Springs, Colorado

Radical Transparency

Below you’ll find my website terms of use, privacy policy, and other important legal disclaimers. You’ll notice they are featured prominently at the bottom of every page. This isn’t an accident. I’ve deliberately chosen to feature these notices in this way instead of placing them in a less conspicuous place.

Attorney Advertising Notice

This website constitutes attorney advertising. The attorney responsible for the content of this website is Jeremy Dowell.

Equinomia Legal’s physical office is located at 2020 N Academy Blvd, 224, Colorado Springs, CO 80909.

USPTO Examining Attorney Independent Determinations

While a federal trademark application drafted by an attorney is more likely to succeed, USPTO examining attorneys make independent legal determinations that cannot be predicted.

As you weigh the pros and cons of working with an attorney, it is important to remember that no attorney can guarantee trademark registration.

Website Content Is Not Legal Advice

The content of this website is general in nature and is provided for informational purposes only. Nothing contained on this website should be construed by any user as constituting legal advice.

The content of this website is not a substitute for the representation of an attorney. No user of this website should attempt to interpret or apply any law without the assistance of an attorney.

No user of this website should act or refrain from acting on the basis of any content included on this website.

Use Of Website Does Not Create Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of this website is not intended to create an attorney-client relationship between Equinomia Legal and any user. No user of this website should assume that the mere use of this website creates an attorney-client relationship between Equinomia Legal and any user.

Please do not send Equinomia Legal any confidential or sensitive information of any kind using any means unless an attorney from Equinomia Legal specifically asks you to do so.

Specialization

Colorado does not certify lawyers as specialists in any field. Any reference to practice areas, focus, or experience does not state or imply official board certification.

Past Results & Testimonials

The case results, settlements, verdicts, and testimonials on this website are for informational purposes only. Every legal matter is unique.

Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any future legal matter.

Website Privacy Policy

Equinomia Legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9/7/2026

This policy explains what information Equinomia Legal collects through equinomia.com, how it is used, and what choices you have.

What this policy does not cover

This policy applies to visitors to this website. It does not govern information you give me as a client or prospective client in the course of seeking or receiving legal services.

Information relating to the representation of a client is confidential under the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct and the USPTO Rules of Professional Conduct. Those obligations are broader and stricter than this policy, they cover information that is publicly available, and they continue after a matter ends. Nothing in this policy limits them, and nothing in this policy should be read as consent to disclose client information.

Information you give me

You give me information when you book a consultation or send me an email. Depending on what you send, that may include:

  • Your name, email address, phone number, and business or entity name

  • The mark you are considering and a description of your goods or services

  • Anything else you choose to include in a message

Please do not send confidential or sensitive information through this website before I specifically ask you to do so. Information you send before then may not be treated as confidential and could prevent me from representing you in the future.

Information collected automatically

This website is hosted on Squarespace, which collects standard technical information when you visit. That may include your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is used to understand how the site is used and to keep it working properly. I do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Cookies

This website uses cookies, which are small files stored by your browser. Squarespace uses them to keep the site functioning and to measure traffic in aggregate. I also use Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies.

You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is set. Some parts of the site may not work correctly if you do. I do not use cookies for advertising and I do not run advertising on this site.

Service providers

I use a small number of outside services to run this website and the practice. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy:

  • Squarespace, which hosts the website and processes form submissions

  • Setmore, which handles consultation scheduling and payment for the consultation fee

  • Google, which handles my email

  • LawPay, which handles payments. I do not receive or store your full card number.

I do not sell your information, I do not rent it, and I do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

How I use what I collect

  • To respond to your inquiry and to schedule and conduct a consultation

  • To run a conflicts check before I take on a matter

  • To provide legal services if you engage me

  • To send you information you have asked for

  • To operate, secure, and improve the website

  • To meet my professional, record keeping, and legal obligations

When I disclose information

I disclose information outside the firm only:

  • To the service providers listed above, to the extent needed for them to perform their function

  • With your consent

  • Where a law, rule, or court order requires it

  • Where permitted by the Rules of Professional Conduct, including to establish a claim or defense on my own behalf or to comply with my professional obligations

How long I keep information

If an inquiry does not become a matter, I keep it only for conflicts-check purposes. Client files are retained as described in your engagement agreement. Colorado law requires me to maintain a written policy for the destruction of documents containing personal identifying information, and I follow that policy.

Security

I take reasonable measures to protect the information I hold, including access controls and encryption in transit. No website or email system is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee that a transmission to me will not be intercepted. Email is my default method of communication; if you would prefer another method, tell me.

Your choices

Whether or not any privacy statute applies to me, you may:

  • Ask what information I hold about you

  • Ask me to correct information that is inaccurate

  • Ask me to delete information, subject to my professional and record keeping obligations

  • Ask me to stop contacting you

Write to ask@equinomia.com and I will respond within two business days. I may need to verify who you are before I act. Some information I am required to keep, and I will tell you if that is the case.

Your browser may offer a Global Privacy Control signal. I do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing for that signal to opt you out of.

Children

This website is directed to businesses and adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent me information, write to ask@equinomia.com and I will delete it.

Links to other sites

This website links to other sites, including the USPTO. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any site I link to.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.
